Winery: Jerome Lambert
Jérôme Lambert is a farmer-winemaker located in Anjou, in the heart of Coteaux-du-Layon in Rablay-sur-Layon. He started making wine in the 2000s, but it took him several years to build his winery. About 3 hectares of vineyards where, in one of one hectare located on the typical shale soil of the area, he raises old vines of chenin blanc, with which he produces his white wines. The harvest takes place in several steps - about a week apart from each other depending on the fullness of maturity - which generate, in order, the Coule de Source, Un Brin Gourmand and Mélodie en Sous. When botrytis forms the "noble rot", Jerome produces sweet wines such as Les Entre-Cœurs or Du Bout des Lèvres. In the remaining two hectares of vineyards, Jérôme grows grolleau and cabernet franc on lighter sandy soils that provide wines characterized by finesse and drinkability. All Lambert wines are made up of grapes only and therefore see no additives on their way to the bottle. "Suffer, n'est pas jouer", as his motto says
