Stamas - Franco Terpin
Stamas is a red wine obtained from a blend of merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes come from the vineyards located in San Floriano del Collio. Terpin carries out a manual and selected harvest of its grapes and vinifies in the cellar using only indigenous yeasts with long maceration on the skins. The Stamas then aged a few years in non-new wooden barrels. Stamas is an intense ruby red color. Intense and complex aromas of ripe red berry fruit, notes of currants and pleasant spicy nuances and liquorice in the background. The Franco Terpin company is located in San Floriano del Collio, Friuli Venezia Giulia, a few steps from the Slovenian border, in the area famous for the production of Orange wine. Franco creates the company, together with his wife, in 1994 and now has about 10 hectares of vines located in a hilly area, part of Italy and part of Slovenia. All the vineyards stand on rich soils of clay and are reared according to organic practices, the cultivated varieties are Ribolla Gialla, Tocai Friulano, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio. In the cellar it does not use chemicals, but only indigenous yeasts, barrel refinements and no filtration. Its wines are all macerated for a time ranging from 3 to 8 days, aged for 3 years in wooden barrels and then steel before being sold. Only 20000 bottles produced, of these unique wines, are the soul of the land and decided as the one who produces them
