Quinto Quarto Rebula - Franco Terpin
Franco Terpin's Quinto Quarto Ribolla is a wine made from 100% Ribolla Gialla grapes. The grapes come from vineyards where synthetic chemicals are not used, and where only low doses of sulfur and copper are allowed to counteract the development of bacteria. After manual harvesting, the bunches ferment spontaneously in steel thanks to the use of indigenous yeasts, macerating in contact with the skins for three days; then we move on to the refinement phase, always done in steel for 8 months. Unfiltered before bottling. It has a golden yellow color. On the nose aromas of ripe fruit with mineral notes. On the palate it is pleasant, medium-bodied and very easy to drink.
Service
We recommend tasting it at a temperature of 12/14 ° in tulip goblets. Daily wine that holds a few years in the cellar.
Pairing
Great to match with fish dishes, to try with a salad of turnips and shrimp.
Cellar: Franco Terpin
The Franco Terpin company is located in San Floriano del Collio, Friuli Venezia Giulia, a few steps from the Slovenian border, in the area famous for the production of Orange wine. Franco creates the company, together with his wife, in 1994 and now has about 10 hectares of vines located in a hilly area, part of Italy and part of Slovenia. All the vineyards stand on rich soils of clay and are reared according to organic practices, the cultivated varieties are Ribolla Gialla, Tocai Friulano, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio. In the cellar it does not use chemicals, but only indigenous yeasts, barrel refinements and no filtration. Its wines are all macerated for a time ranging from 3 to 8 days, aged for 3 years in wooden barrels and then steel before being sold. Only 20000 bottles produced, of these unique wines, are the soul of the land and decided as the one who produces them
