Cellar: Marcel Lapierre
Domaine Lapierre was founded at the beginning of the nineteenth century at Villiè-Morgon by Micheal Lapierre, who had been called to perform the function of maître de chais at the Domaine des Chenes. After the Second World War, Camille was his son and in the 1950s he began to bottle wine and try to buy new land. Today the company's management is entrusted to Marcel, who since 1981 under the guidance of Jules Chauvet, a well-known researcher at the University of California, has decided to make a natural wine with the choice not to use sulfur dioxide, selected yeasts and Cultivate its vineyards according to the principles of biodynamics, without chemical fertilizers or herbicides, so as to maintain the biological life of the soil, improving the attachment of plants and their ability to absorb trace elements. The property vineyards now extend over 13 hectares with an average age of 60 years and extend beyond Villie-Morgon, also on the Côte du Py. 3 product wines, all based on Gamay obtained with the typical Beaujolais technique of carbon maceration and refinement in used wood barrels. In a time dominated by the standardization of taste, Marcel has been able to express a true, genuine, genuine Gamay of the territory.
