Bruno Duchêne's Lune is a beautiful red wine obtained from a blend of Grenache, Mourvedre and Carignan that come from old 50-year-old vineyards that are found on soils composed mainly of shale so steep that Bruno can simply use a horse to plow. The vinification takes place spontaneously with whole grapes, without resorting to pumping over. Refine 2/3 in vats and 1/3 in barrique. The  Luna is a deep ruby ​​red color. On the nose there are hints of red berries, floral and spicy notes. At the sip it is greedy, of incredible finesse, inscribed in freshness and balance, elegant tannins. A true "big bottle" of the Roussillon that combines the freshness of the glou glou wines and the depth of the great reds.

Service

We recommend taste it at a temperature of 16/18 ° in tulip glasses. Wine drink immediately but will express its best in a few years. It is advisable to keep it in a horizontal position in a cool, damp and dark cellar.

Pairing

La Lune Rouge is well suited to accompany first and second courses of meat, to try with a fillet of beef with green pepper.

Bruno Duchêne is originally from Loir-et-Cher, a French department in the central region of the Loire. In 2002, he bought small plots of vineyards on the steep slopes that overlook the town of Banyuls, 300 miles above sea level. In this difficult environment, where the discomfort of the work is anything but an abstract notion, Bruno does a hard work to practice organic farming most of his vineyard, where we find old vineyards that give grenache noir, gris and grapes. blanc, macabeu, malvasia and moscato. In the winery, Bruno tries to intervene as little as possible with spontaneous vinification and the minimum use of sulfur, so as to give life to wines that represent the territory. Among the numerous wines; the Suzette, a referment based on grenache and fermentino, the Mére Lach'nous, a rosé made from grapes of carignan and mouvèdre, the Luna Rouge produced with the three types of grenache and carignan, Vall Pompo based on grenache blanc.
