Service
We recommend to taste it at a temperature of 16/18° in tulip glasses. A wine to be drunk immediately but will express its best in a few years. In the meantime, it is advisable to keep it in a horizontal position in a cool, damp and dark cellar.
Pairing
It goes perfectly with first courses, meat main courses, aged cheeses.
Winery: Nuzzella
The Nuzzella farm is located on the wonderful eastern side of Etna, at an altitude of about 500m a.s.l., on the border between the villages of Piedimonte Etneo and Linguaglossa. Here the land takes the name of "Terremorte" because it is made up of numerous layers of lava overlapping each other. The company was founded in 2015 from an idea of Nicola Autieri, who, helped by Sergio Arena and the oenologist Vincenzo Angileri, bought about 4 hectares of vineyards and olive groves. Immediately begins the exciting work of recovering the old pre-existing vineyard, planted with local varieties such as; Nerello Mascalese, Carricante and Catarratto. The vines, grown against espalier, with a density of 5000 plants per hectare, throughout the year they are treated with painstaking attention, respecting nature, following the dictates of certified organic farming. No use of herbicides or synthetic products, use of low doses of copper and sulfur, contribution of organic substance to the soil through annual green manure of legumes and grasses and use of pheromones to fight harmful insects. A way to take care not only of the wine, but also to respect and thank the splendid land that gives it to us. Every year a small number of bottles are produced, about 10,000, divided into four labels, including an interesting classic method.
