Brouilly AOC 2019 – Georges Descombes
Georges Descombes' Brouilly AOC is a long-limbed and polite, harmonious red wine, which manages to combine something fleshy and ephemeral with a satisfying and long-lasting relaxation. The most incredible thing is its juiciness while the most difficult thing is to weave with it a lot, a lot of refinement. Carbonic maceration in pre-fermentation, slow and delicate pressing. Unfiltered, not to mention that it is a simple beaujolais.

Cellar: Georges Descombes
Domaine Georges Descombes is located in Vermont, a small hamlet by Villié-Morgon. Georges Descombes is the fifth unofficial member of the "Gang of Four": Marcel Lapierre, Jean Foillard, Jean-Paul Thévenet and Guy Breton. Georges from an early age, with the help of his father, he breathes the air of the vineyards and, in 1988 he takes over the current estate. Right from the start he decided to have an organic approach (certified by Ecocert for many years, but now practicing without certification) that it is lead to the elimination of all chemicals during the vineyard e during the vinification. Today, Georges owns approximately 15.5 hectares of land distributed over five AOC: 7.5 hectares in Morgon, 3.5 hectares in Brouilly, 2 hectares in Regnié, 0.5 hectares in Chiroubles and 2 hectares in Beaujolais-Villages. Georges believes that his wines improve over time and always puts them on sale up to a year later than the most of his colleagues.
