R 18 - Les Vins Contès
R 18 is a red wine obtained from a blend of Grolleau, Cot, and Gamay from vineyards cultivated in biodynamic conditions on the calcareous and sandy soils of the Loire. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified only with the help of yeasts naturally present on the skins, without any other artifice. Aging in steel. The resulting wine is a fresh and easy to drink juice, with frankness and a strong character. Ruby red in color, the nose expresses juicy berries and light spicy notes. The taste is firm, velvety, direct, stretches with a nice acidity and closes with a nice fruity finish. An ideal wine for those who want to enjoy life.
Service
We taste it at a temperature of 16/18 ° in tuliapano glasses. Wine to be drunk immediately but left to rest in the cellar for a few years can give great sensations.
Pairings It goes well with savory first courses, roasted white meats and semi-mature cheeses.
Winery: Les Vins Contès
Les Vins Contés is a small company located in Cande sur Beuvron, not far from Tours, in the central valley of the Loire. The winery was founded in 2002, from a meeting between an oenologist, Olivier Lemasson who with Marcel Lapierre took his first steps in the vineyards, and a wine merchant, Hervé Villemade who owned a 12-hectare estate in Cheverny and wanted to start a business . In 2006, however, they split up; Hervé concentrates in his field, while Olivier with the help of his wife Cecile continues the adventure of the Contés wines and takes two hectares of vineyard that are in the Touraine appellation. The vines are worked in an organic way, and we can find many local varieties, such as Pineau d'unis, Côt, Menu pineau and Romorantin, Chenin, as well as Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Aligotè and Gamay. Grapes harvested by hand and vinified only with the help of yeasts naturally present on the skins, without any other artifice. Aging in steel, to obtain fresh and easy to drink wines, with frankness and strong character. Olivier defends the idea of wines shaped by nature, only indulged by the hand of man, produced through traditional viticulture.
