Pet Nat Blauer Wildbacher- Weingut Strohmeier
The Pet Nat by Franz Strohmeier is a sparkling wine made from Blauer Wildbacher grapes, a native Styrian grape that stands out for its acidity. Franz has 3.5 hectares of Blauer Wildbacher cultivated in a biodynamic regime. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The refermentation takes place in the bottle. The Pet Nat Blauer Wildbacher by Franz Strohmeier has an antique pink color. The nose tastes of fruits like red plums, nectarines, apricots, with light citrus notes. Service
We taste it at a temperature of 8/10 ° in a tulip glass. Wine should be drunk immediately but can give fantastic emotions if kept for a few years.
Pairing
Excellent when paired with cold cuts, first courses. Try it with risottos and stuffed pasta.
Winery: Weingut Strohmeier
The Strohmeier winery is located in Lestein, a small Austrian town nestled in the Styrian nature park. The company is managed by the Strohmeier family Christine and Franz, who since 2006 have cultivated 10 hectares of vineyards according to the principles of biodynamics. The philosophy of the Strohmeiers is based on the concept of symbiosis (Greek: sym = together - bios = life) and gives each organism its authorization for life, from single-celled plants and animals to highly developed ones. In its vineyards we find native vine plants such as the Blauer Wildbacher, the Zweigelt, the Muskateller, but also international vines such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. In the cellar Franz follows the same philosophy adopted in the vineyard, spontaneous fermentation, no filtration or use of solforsa during the entire wine-making process. The composition of Strohmeier wines changes from year to year depending on how the year went; for this reason on the label we find the name of the wine followed by a number indicating the number of vintages it has arrived.
