Torrette - La Source
The Petit Rouge and Vien de Nus grapes used for the Torreta come from a vineyard area and precisely from the Saint-Pierre vineyard, planted in 1991 on a sandy soil. The grapes are scrupulously picked by hand, and after decaying they are left to ferment in steel tanks. The must-wine remains 8-10 days in contact with the skins. After ripening, the refining takes place on the fine lees partly in steel and wood part to promote maturation and increase the complexity of flavor and scent. The Turrette is ruby red. Intense nose hints of red berry, purple and plum fruit, and spicy notes. In the mouth is structured and full bodied, enveloping, dry and pleasant with a slightly spiced finish.
Service
It is advisable to taste the Torrette at a temperature of 16/18 ° in tulip goblets. Daily wine but left a few years in the cellar can give you great emotions.
Pairing
Great with homemade cold meats, ideal with first tasty dishes, to be tried with a roast veal with potatoes.
Winery: La Source
La Source is a young and small company located in Bussan Dessous, Saint-Pierre, a small village in the center of the Aosta Valley, characterized by the castle overlooking the plain dug by Dora Baltea. Born in 2003 by the initiative of some young vintners, today the company is owned by the Celi-Cuc family but above all by Stefano Celi is the soul. Stefano, a descendant of a family of vineyards, has been working in various wineries since 2005, taking over the reins of La Source. Stefano cares about 6.5 hectares of vineyards planted with some international vines such as Syrah, Gamay and Müller Thurgau, but above all with the native Petit Rouge, Premetta, Vien de Nus, Fumin and Cornalin. The vineyards are located in the best wine-growing areas of the valleys in the towns of Quart, Aosta, Sarre, Saint-Pierre, Aymavilles and Villeneuve and enjoy excellent sun exposure, which allows you to obtain the best quality products. Winemaking is carried out in the new cellar with modern technology but with an eye to tradition in order to obtain wines that are always the mirror of the area of origin.
