Ciro Classico Superiore - Scala

Cirò Rosso Classico Superiore di Scala is an intense and warm red wine obtained from pure gaglioppo grapes. The grapes come from vines whose average age is around 30 years, which grow at about 200 meters above sea level on a clayey and calcareous soil. After the harvest, the grapes are brought to the cellar, and here they are softly pressed, then macerating on the skins for 15 days and fermenting in concrete tanks. In the same tanks the wine rests for a period between 24 and 36 months.

Service

We taste the Ciro at a temperature of 14/16 ° in tulip glass. The Ciro is to be drunk immediately, but if left a few years in the cellar can give great emotions.

Pairing

Wine that goes well with pasta and meat, try it with a plate of fileja sauce with chickpeas.

Since 1949 the Scala family has been producing, selecting and caring for Cirò wine, cultivating native grapes such as Gaglioppo, Magliocco, Nerello and Greco Bianco in their traditional and clayey, organically-run land, both hilly and flat, in a production that aims at distinction. Continuity is the basis of his philosophy, even in the family management, entrusted to Luigi in the cellar and to Francesco in the commercial, so as to preserve intact the spirit and emotions that emerge from these historic places.
