Quela - Klinec
Quela di Klinec is a powerful and balanced red wine that comes from a blend of merlot, cabernet franc, and cabernet sauvignon. The grapes come from vineyards located on the hills of Medana in Goriska Brda composed of an ancient subsoil rich in ecocene rocks, minerals and fossils. The vines grow according to the philosophy of Aleks that embraces the principles of biodynamics and follows the certified biological principles. In the cellar Ala vinification is spontaneous with only indigenous yeasts and makes 30 days of maceration on the skins. The refinement is carried out in wooden barrels for at least 3 years. Filtrations or clarifications are not part of Klinec's thought. Quela dresses in a sparkling ruby red color. On the nose, aromas of plum, cherry under spirits, medlar, dried figs, wet leaves, licorice and goudron. On the palate it is medium-bodied, balanced, crossed by a mineral blade, with references to flint and cherry. Finale in which the robust tannin of cabernet sauvignon.

Cellar: Klinec
The cellar Klinec is located in Dobrovo in the heart of the Slovenian Collio, one kilometer from the Italian airline. Here the view is breathtaking between the snowy Alps in the North, the blue in the Adriatic Sea to the South and all around the gentle green hills of Collio. The cellar, which is also an excellent farmhouse with a wonderful traditional cuisine, is run by Ales Klinec with the car of his wife Simona. Ales is a heartfelt and very helpful person, a great worker who speaks five languages. The work of his ancestors continues, the cellar was founded by his grandfather in 1918, a period of wars and survival. Here was the first line and almost all the vineyards were destroyed. After the war a great deal was done to bring everything back as it was before. Today, Ales cultivates biodynamic five hectares of vineyards planted with native Collio grape varieties such as Malvasia, Rebula and Friulan, which are here called Jakot. But we also find red berries like Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. In the cellar, Ales seeks to intervene as little as possible, only spontaneous vinification and refinements occur for whites in acacia and mulberry barrels, for cherry and oak reds. Klinec's wines are very good, complex, strong in character and have all the scents of the collision.
