The cellar Klinec is located in Dobrovo in the heart of the Slovenian Collio, one kilometer from the Italian airline. Here the view is breathtaking between the snowy Alps in the North, the blue in the Adriatic Sea to the South and all around the gentle green hills of Collio. The cellar, which is also an excellent farmhouse with a wonderful traditional cuisine, is run by Ales Klinec with the car of his wife Simona. Ales is a heartfelt and very helpful person, a great worker who speaks five languages. The work of his ancestors continues, the cellar was founded by his grandfather in 1918, a period of wars and survival. Here was the first line and almost all the vineyards were destroyed. After the war a great deal was done to bring everything back as it was before. Today, Ales cultivates biodynamic five hectares of vineyards planted with native Collio grape varieties such as Malvasia, Rebula and Friulan, which are here called Jakot. But we also find red berries like Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. In the cellar, Ales tries to intervene as little as possible, only spontaneous vinification and refinements occur for whites in acacia and mulberry barrels, for cherry and oak reds. Klinec's wines are very good, complex, strong in character and have all the scents of the collision.
