Terrano by Rencel is a splendid red wine based on Terrano, a typical vine of these areas on the border between Italy and Slovenia. Terrano - Josko Rencel

A splendid red wine based on Terrano, a typical vine of these areas on the border between Italy and Slovenia. Josko Rencel cultivates his Terrano on a red soil mixed with clay and karst stones called Kremen. Spontaneous fermentation with the only indigenous yeasts, long macerations and refinements in large barrels and steel. The Terrano di Rencel has a ruby ​​red color with purple reflection. On the nose it is vinous, with hints of small red fruit, mineral notes and weeds. At the sip it is medium-bodied, soft, with delicate tannins and good acidity. Closes with a good persistence.

Service

We adjust it at a temperature around 16/18 ° C in a tulipanp glass. Wine to drink immediately but holds good time.

Pairings

The Terrano di Rencel is ideal with a plate of cold cuts, savory pasta dishes, to try with a fillet of blueberry sauce.

Josko Rencel's winery is located in Dutovlye on the Slovenian Karst, on the border with Friuli Venezia Giulia, an area that is still little known and unexplored from an enological point of view, but rich in great potential. Josko Rencel grows three and a half hectares of vineyards on land rich in red soil mixed with clay and karst stones, called Kremen. Josko is an experimenter vigneron who seeks the balance of his creatures in aging. Its musts often rest for years in its underground cellars, following the sacred trilogy of the passages: first in barrels, through steel and finally in the bottle. Sophisticated and sublime are its whites made with Malvasia, Sauvignon, and Vitovska. Absolutely explosive and explosive, its reds, among which the Terrano, the Pinot noir, one of the few to grow it in these areas, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Terrano is vinified in different ways, including a passito of Terrano produced by the Soleras method.
