Cellar: Balenaia
In the locality of Le Querciole in the S. Amato hamlet of the municipality of Vinci stands the Balenaia company, born from the meeting between Claudia, a graduate in herbal medicine, and Ivan who worked for several years in companies of the "Renaissance des Appellation". Three hectares of land, dedicated to the vineyard, all conducted in organic farming for almost 10 years, with an approach to biodynamics. No weeding, but leguminous green manure, and copper, sulfur and propolis for treatments. Here the vines of the local tradition are preferred: first of all Sangiovese, but also Vermentino Nero and Trebbiano. In the cellar, a simple and traditional approach: spontaneous fermentations and no interventions such as filtrations or clarifications. It is thanks to this non-interventionist approach that wines with a strong territorial personality and great elegance take shape.
