Cellar: Chateau de Grand Prè
Château de Grand Pré is a family-run winery located in the commune of Fleurie in Beaujolais. A company that has been handed down for generations and since 2012 has Romain Zordan at the helm, who after working in various French wine regions and abroad, decides to return home. In 2018, Alexandre Jakovljevitch also joins the adventure. With vines in Fleurie and Villié Morgon, the estate has been certified organic since 2012. Benefiting from a semi-continental climate with oceanic and Mediterranean influences, the habitat is perfect for over 60-year-old vines of the area's main grape variety, Gamay noir à jus blanc . Romain Zordan is churning out some of the purest Gamay we've ever tasted in a spirit we fully share: he makes wines that he likes to drink first and foremost. Fresh, precise, expressive, with very little sulfur but at the same time with a beautiful structure.
