Dogliani Superiore bySan Fereolo is an intense and complex red wine obtained from the grapes of the same name that come from vineyards 40-70 years old, located on the south-west and south-east slopes of the San Fereolo hill. It has an intense ruby ​​red color, an expolsion of red fruit on the nose that contrasts with tertiary and balsamic notes. On the palate it is warm, enveloping, complex with a long and almondy finish.

Dogliani DOCG Superiore - San Fereolo

Obtained from Dolcetto grapes from vineyards Austri, Costaabella and Cerri Sottani with etàmedia from 40 to 70 years. The harvest of grapes during the harvest manueale and winery fermentation is spontaneous using only indigenous yeasts, maceration depending on the year can last from 10 to 20 days. It is aged in barrels of different sizes, from 7 to 40 hectoliters, where it remains in contact with the lees for six months. The Doglaini is separated slowly from the lees and bottled in the second year following the harvest. It continues to age for 12 months in bottle. San Fereolo produces this wine with the belief that the Dogliani can mature over time and dimostare all its expressive capabilities. Only 13,000 bottles are produced every year and are put on the market only a small number in order to show potential evolutivi of Dolcetto still too underestimated. The color is intense ruby ​​red, the nose a espolsione red fruit which is opposed to tertiary and balsamic notes. The palate is warm, enveloping, intense with a long finish.

Service

We taste it at a temperature of 16/18 ° in tulip glasses. We recommend drinking it right away, but if you want to appreciate the potential evolution of the Dolcetto di Dogliani, it is recommended to leave a few years to rest in a cool cellar, damp and dark horizontal.

The winery is located in San Fereolo Borgata Valdibà, in the town in the heart of Dogliani Dogliani Dolcetto denomination.
