Vin de Sofa - Gentle Folk

Vin de Sofa comes directly from the Adelaide Hills, a magnificent area found in southern Australia. Grapes used: Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, and Gewürztraminer. Vineyards between 34 and 90 years old located at 620 m. s.l.m. on clay and sandy soil, with the presence of schist and quartz. The different grapes are fermented together in whole bunches for 5 weeks. Aging in steel. Needless to describe it. The result is a clean and fresh nose that tastes of red fruit. A delicious wine that the name says it all: sit on the couch and drink. We like it!

Service

We taste it at a temperature of 16/18 ° in tulip glasses. A wine to be drunk immediately but will express its best in a few years.

Pairing

A wine for the whole meal, from an appetizer to a second course of meat, to try with a spaghetti with tomato sauce and pecorino.

Gareth Belton and his wife Rainbo are two marine biologists among the leading Australian algae experts. Their strong passion for wine and land led them to found this small company that is in the Basket Range in Adelaide Hills, in southern Australia, recognized worldwide for its fine wines, for the tradition of viticulture and for the magnificent landscapes . Here they produce some of the most pure, multifaceted and elegant wines of the state. They cultivate 3 hectares of vineyards planted with Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Gewürztraminer. The vines have an age ranging from 40 to 90 years and are located at 620 m.s.l.m. on clay and sandy soil, with the presence of schist and quartz. Whole bunch spontaneous fermentation, as used in Burgundy, and aging in steel tanks or in barriques. Three wines are produced, all in very few examples. Run to grab some.
