Catarratto Lucido - Marco De Bartoli
Catarratto Lucido is obtained from purple Catarratto grapes, in its variant called Catarratto white shiny, which is more delicate and fresh than the common variant, and with the characteristic bitter aftertaste much less marked. The glossy name derives from its characteristic shiny appearance, given by a smaller amount of walnut, waxy substance and whitish color covering the acorns and giving the grapes a velvety appearance, affecting the color of the cluster. The grapes come from wineyards with an average age of 15 years placed on sandy-calcareous soils. The vintage is in the second week of September. After cooling and rigorous manual selection, the bunches are gently pressed. The low temperature must remain decanted for 48 hours. The clear part starts at fermentation in controlled steel temperature tanks by native yeasts and with minimal use of sulphites. 7 months in steel tanks, on fine lees. The Catarratto Lucido Catarratto has straw yellow color with fruity scents. The palate is light, fresh and mineral.

Winery: Marco De Bartoli
We cannot speak of Marco De Bartoli without associating his name with his wonderful Vecchio Samperi. In fact, it was he who led the rebirth of this wine for decades put in purgatory and associated with the worst names. Marco was a volcano, a dreamer, he liked to talk, and with anyone he spoke he told about his beautiful Sicily, about his wine and got very angry when he thought about the end that he had made this wine. Since 2011, the company has been run by the sons Renato, Sebio and Giuseppina who carry out the project started by Marco with love and passion. The vineyards are located 12 km from Marsala and on the island of Pantelleria, in the Bukkuram district, which in Arabic means father of the vineyard. The cultivated vines are only native Sicilian; from Grillo, to Zibibbo raised in Pantelleria and used for the passito and the Bukkuram line. De Bartoli's wines tell of his land, his thousand projects, his tenacity and his will to win on all fronts.
