Cellar: Marguet
Marguet is located in Ambonnay, a village in the Champagne region called Montagne de Reims, characterized by chalky soils and the mainly cultivated grape variety is Pinot Noir. Historic company of Champagne was founded in 1905 by Bonnerave Freres to then move to Marguet-Bonnerave and finally to Benoit Marguet. Benoit is a young man with very clear ideas and since 2004 decides to convert his vineyards to biodynamics. Today it raises 8 hectares, also with the help of two splendid horses, to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier which are the villages of Ambonnay and Bouzy, both classified Grand Cru. Benoit loves to vinify all his parcels separately in barrique and every year he decides the assemblies and the dosages in order to obtain the champagne that deeply reflect the terroir. There are numerous labels produced, including the "Champagne Sapience Vintage Premier Cru" blend of Pinot Nero and Chardonnay with aging on the lees for 62 months. Marguet champagne is elegant, rich in style, and immediately affects the heart and palate.
