Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC - Praesidium

From Montepulciano d'Abruzzo grapes, the same from which Riserva wine is made, this versatile Cerasuolo is obtained with a great mineral freshness. After fermentation, it rests for at least five months in steel barrels. The Cerasuolo di Praesidium is an intense cherry-colored color. On the nose, floral aromas of rose and hints of red berries, followed by notes of mineral nuances. At the sip it is of good body, fresh and lively, with good flavor and a fruity closure.

Service

It is advisable to taste it at a temperature of 10/12 ° in tulip glasses. Wine to be drunk immediately but holds up well aging.

Pairing

Try it with savory first courses, main courses of white meat, fish stew, excellent with swordfish rolls.

Cellar: Praesidium

The Praesidium winery is located in Prezza, a beautiful town perched on a rock spur in Abruzzo, in the western part of the Valle Peligna, in an area particularly suited to the cultivation of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo grapes. Prezza, from the Latin verb "Praeesse", which means to preside, from which the noun "Praesidium" which gives the name to the wine and the company, was chosen to indicate the unbreakable link between the product Montepulciano and the territory in which it is born . The company has always been owned by the Pasquale family, and today it is led by Enzo, who as a child helped grandparents in the vineyard and cellar, and his wife Lucia. Their story begins in 1988 when the two decide to produce a Montepulciano that was an expression of the territory of origin. Today, Praesidium has five hectares of vineyards exclusively cultivated in Montepulciano, conducted in organic farming according to ancient farming techniques. In the cellar the vinification is very artisanal, with spontaneous fermentations only aided by indigenous yeasts and with very low sulfur dioxide uses. Praesidium wines are like their producers, authentic, true, sincere, able to tell the story of a territory.
