Cellar: Raphaël Beysang
Raphaël Beysang comes from Alsace, the son of restaurateurs and the grandson of an oenologist. He was fortunate to begin his training with Patrick Meyer, then moved to Jean-Marc Dreyer where he met Vincent Marie ... deciding to follow him to Auvergne. It was there that he met Patrick Bouju, with whom he worked until the decision to leave the region and begin his journey in Beaujolais, and with whom he continues to collaborate by making wine from the gamay that Bouju bottles for the shop. Emélie Hurtubise is Canadian, during a trip to Japan she met Justine Loiseau, the wife of Patrick Bouju, followed her to Auvergne where, in the cellar, she was called to replace Raphaël. That meeting was only the beginning of their new path. The couple settled in Saint Germain Nuelles in 2017 and today have about 8.7 hectares of vineyards, all managed in biodynamics, which mostly vinifies except for a few lots that they sell to friends in Auvergne. 100% gamay on various types of soil: clay, limestone, granite, blue stones. The very clear vision and the strong principles foresee a great dedication and hard work in the vineyards, followed by a transformation / production of "zero zero" wine. The wines of Emélie and Raphaël are of a rare purity, crisp and pleasant, light and with an almost dangerous degree of drinkability; the good news is that starting from the 2018 vintage their wines are available exclusively in 1 liter or magnum formats. The bottles are mostly recycled and therefore all different in appearance.
