Cellar: Bossanova
After a fortuitous meeting but an immediate harmony and intense professional motivation, Andrea Quaglia and Natalino Colantonio decide in 2018 to change their lives. This conversion passes through the land, in particular the hills planted with vines over forty years ago by Andrea's grandfather, for all Nonno Juccio, on the splendid hills of Controguerra, in the Teramo hinterland. A privileged area for viticulture, with its gentle altitude and the dual influence of the sea (which is just 10 kilometers away) and the mountains (the Gran Sasso can be seen on the horizon from the vineyards). For these clayey-limestone vineyards, the choice of organic and biodynamic agriculture (official certification is expected in 2021) and very low grape yields. It is in this way that Nat and Andrea enhance the traditional Abruzzo vines: Montepulciano and Trebbiano. The approach in the cellar could only be consistent with the respectful setting of the vineyards. Fermentations are spontaneous and take place without the use of sulfur dioxide. No oenological clarification and no filtration. Refinement takes place in concrete tanks. The red, rosé and white wines produced in this way are at the same time a reflection of the best Teramo tradition and a renewed drive towards the preservation of spontaneity of taste.
