Rosso - Azienda Agricola Le Coste
Rosso di Le Coste Di Gradoli is a wine made from red grapes of local varieties. The Le Coste farm, led by Clementine Bouveron together with Gianmarco Antonuzi, was born from scratch in 2004 with the aim of enhancing a magnificent territory, with significant agricultural potential. The territory is characterized by being at an average altitude of 450 meters above sea level, by being hilly and overlooking a newly volcanic lake, by having a soil with a very varied and complex stratification, rich in minerals and tending to be poor in organic matter. The vineyards are bred by practicing agriculture that applies the principles of biodynamics. The grapes, after manual harvesting, are de-stemmed and fermented in truncated conical French oak vats. Refinement continues in old Slavonian oak barrels. Having been an excellent vintage, 2017 came out with an extra year of bottle aging.
Service
We taste it at a temperature of around 16/18 ° C in tulip glasses. Wine to drink immediately, but left a few years in the cellar can give great emotions.
Pairings
The Lot 20 le Coste is excellent with pasta dishes, seasoned cheeses, to try with a stew with potatoes.
Winery: Azienda Agricola Le Coste
Le Coste is located in Gradoli, in the province of Viterbo, near the Bolsena lake on the border between Lazio and Umbria. Area of Etruscan origin with beautiful landscapes such as the Valle dei Calanchi on the slopes of Civita di Bagnoregio. Here the soils are of volcanic origin rich in iron and minerals that make the wines scented. Le Coste was born in February 2004 with the purchase by Gianmarco and Clementine, the owners, of three hectares of abandoned land known as "Le Coste". The aim was to produce products deriving from organic farming in synergy with nature and the surrounding landscape. Today Le Coste covers an area of about 14 hectares, of which three of vines planted by Gianmarco and Clementine, four of old vines for rent, four of olive trees and three of woods, where we find shrubs of Mediterranean scrub, wild chestnut trees, oaks secular and elm. Gianmarco and Clementine apply the principles of biodynamics to their plants. In the cellar they do not use interventions aimed at changing the quality of the grapes so that their wines are represented in the vintage.
