Red wine obtained from the Pignolo grapes, an autochthonous vine from Friuli Venezia Giulia, which takes its name from the carratteristica, a pinecone shape of the bunch. After harvesting, the grapes spontaneously ferment with a long maceration on the skins for at least a month. Refines in oak barrels for 10 years. The Pignol is ruby red with garnet reflections. The nose has hints of ripe red fruit, with spicy notes of hummus, mushrooms and undergrowth. On the palate it is of body, enveloping, elegant, with good freshness and softness, integrated tannins. Very long final.

We recommend serving Pignol at a temperature of 16/18 ° in ballon glasses. Wine that will express its best characteristics in a few years.
Pairing
Excellent combined with oven-baked pastas and second courses of meat, aged cheeses, to try with stewed duck.
The cellar: Bressan
The Fulvio Bressan winery is located in Farra d'Isonzo, in the province of Gorizia. The Bressan Company is a historical company, whose origins date back to 1726 thanks to Giacomo Bressan. From generation to generation we have come to Nereo but especially to Fulvio who, after finishing his university studies, is dedicated body and soul, together with his wife Jelena Misina, to manage the company and the international promulgation of the company, so that Fulvio is appointed "Noble of Friulian Wines" by the Duke Emilio I. Fulvio cultivates 20 hectares of vines that are found on the pebbles of the Hisonzo that have the peculiarity of accumulating the heat during the day and releasing it in the evening. The ideas of Fulvio Bressan to make wines are very clear, no chemical herbicides in the vineyard but only respect for nature, in the winery only indigenous yeasts and traditional vinifications, respecting a long tradition that rejects modernity. The cultivated vines range from the indigenous Schioppettino, Malvasia, Verduzzo Friulano and Ribolla Gialla to Pinot Nero and Merlot. The wines of Bressan are true, sincere, unique, intense as the strong and charismatic personality of those who produce them.
