The winery: Benito Favaro
The Benito Favaro winery is a small, completely family-run company located in Piverone, in the province of Turin. Its vineyards extend over the Serra, the largest morainic hill in Europe, where the landscape is breathtaking, with the nearby lake of Viverone acting as a thermal regulator. The winery was founded in 1992, when Benito followed his own brilliant intuition, which over the years proved to be more than spot on. Today it is led by his son Camillo, helped in the vineyards by his father, his sister Elena and her husband, Claudio. In the vineyards, grown with scrupulous care and with preventive treatments reduced to a minimum, we find Nebbiolo, Freisa, Syrah and Barbera grapes, but it is obviously the Erbaluce variety that dominates. The result is wines that reflect the territory with precision and elegance, and above all the grape variety, an Erbaluce of the highest level.
