Jakot Plava Etiketa - Nando

Nando's "Jakot Plava Etiketa" is a mineral, fresh and complex wine with a very long finish. Obtained from Friulian grapes, fermented in used 500 liter barrels with one week maceration on the skins. Refine for 18 months in the same barrels. Bottled without filtration.

Service

We taste it at a temperature of 12/14° in tulip glasses. Wine to be drunk immediately but left a few years in the cellar can give great emotions.

Pairing

It goes perfectly with first courses of vegetables, second courses of fish, semi-seasoned cheeses, to try with a baked sea bream with potatoes.

The Collio of Gorizia, just on the border with Italy, is the terroir of origin of Nando's wines, certainly one of the most interesting realities of the Collio It is here that the Mediterranean microclimate mixes with the warm sea air coming from the south, and fresh from the Julian Alps north of the company, creating a unique microclimate, ideal for the cultivation of native and traditional grapes of this area. Its vineyards are located on the border, half in the Slovenian collio and half in the Italian collio. The grapes grown in these wonderful and hanging 5.5 hectors are: Rebula, Tokaj, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The approach is minimalist both in the vineyard and in the cellar: sulfur and copper for the few treatments, spontaneous fermentation, sulfur added in minimal quantities to bottling. Andrej Kristancic's wines fully enclose the rocky essence of the Collio ("ponka" in Slovenian and "marna" in Italian).
