Chardonnay "Scapulin" - Giuseppe Cortese

"Scapulin" is a beautiful white wine made from Chardonnay grapes that is produced following the style of the Burgundian whites. The grapes, after the manual harvest, vinify in barriques. Matures first for 9 months in the same barrels and then further refine in glass for a minimum of six months. A small production made only with just over 1,000 bottles. "Scapulin" has a beautiful golden yellow color. On the nose the aromas range from notes of yellow peach, to hints of tropical vanilla. On the palate it is full-bodied, warm and enveloping, with good freshness and flavor. It closes with a long finish.

Service

It is recommended to serve it at a temperature of 8/10 ° in tulip glasses. Daily wine that does not disdain to be aged a few years. It is advisable to keep it well preserved in a lying position in a dark, cool and damp place.

Pairing

 Excellent to be paired with first courses of vegetables, second courses of fish, to try with a plate of semi-mature cheeses.

The Giuseppe Cortese winery is located on the rolling hills of Barbaresco in the heart of the Langhe. Giuseppe Cortese has a strong link with the territory and tradition and fully enhances the wines of Barbaresco. This tradition today is guarded and guided by the sons of Giuseppe: Pier Carlo and Tiziana who with their husband Gabriele look to the future with the determination that has always distinguished the Cortese family.
