Ansonaco - Altura Vigneto
"Ansonaco" is an intense and rich macerated white wine obtained from the native Ansonaco vine. The grapes come from vineyards with an average age of 15 years that grow on soils of sandy and acid origin, rich in microelements. The vinification is spontaneous with only indigenous yeasts without any maceration on the skins. Refines in steel tanks. Before being bottled it is not clarified, neither filtered nor stabilized. The Ansonaco is a dry white wine with an orange color. The nose reveals aromas of ripe fruit, followed by notes of Mediterranean scrub, smoky and mineral scents. On the palate it is robust, powerful and dry.
Service
We taste it at a temperature of 12/14 ° in tulip glasses. Wine to drink immediately but will express its best in a few years.
Pairing
Excellent wine to pair with fish starters, first courses with vegetables, second courses with white meats.
Cellar: Altura Vigneto
Altura Vigneto is the work of Francesco Carfagna, who abandons his profession as a mathematics professor to move to the island of Giglio with the intention of opening a restaurant. With the passing of the years, Francis puts an original and courageous idea into his head; that of recovering and enhancing ancient autochthonous vineyards that grow on the steep slopes of the Giglio Island. Today Francesco has managed with hard work to recover 4 hectares behind the Punta Capel Rosso lighthouse. Ansonaco and Sangiovese vineyards that grow on sandy soil, raised without using any chemical treatment. In the cellar the fermentations are free without adding substances extraneous to the must. All wines are not clarified, neither filtered nor stabilized before bottling.
