Producer Altura Vigneto

Altura Vigneto is the work of Francesco Carfagna, who abandons his profession as a mathematics professor to move to the island of Giglio with the intention of opening a restaurant. With the passing of the years, Francis puts an original and courageous idea into his head; that of recovering and enhancing ancient autochthonous vineyards that grow on the steep slopes of the island of Giglio. Today Francesco has managed with hard work to recover 4 hectares behind the Punta Capel Rosso lighthouse. Ansonaco and Sangiovese vineyards that grow on sandy soil, bred without using any chemical treatment. In the cellar the fermentations are free without the addition of substances extraneous to the must. All the wines of Altura Vigneto are not clarified, neither filtered nor stabilized before bottling.
