Momento Mori Wines is a company founded on the principle of making wines that respect life. The winery is located in Gippsland Victoria, and was founded in 2013 by Dane Johns, who after having worked as a bartender but above all gained experience of harvesting and winemaking in Australia and Europe, decided to move to this south-eastern part of Australia. At the beginning he produced his wines with grapes coming from a few organic growers in his region, and used Italian varieties such as Fiano, Moscato Giallo and Vermentino. Today he cultivates his own vineyards located around their farm, and the varieties he uses are Riesling, Pinot Noir and Gewurztraminer, but also Fiano Greco, Nosiola, Ribolla, Teroldego and other Italian varieties. Dane and his wife Hannah take care of everything on their farm: vineyards, animals and gardens. Their wines are made using indigenous yeasts, without oak and without oenological additions. This results in multiple labels that are distinctive, full of character, freshness, purity and, above all, alive.
