Winery: Monte dei Ragni
Monte dei Ragni is a small winery located in the municipality of Fumane, in the province of Verona, and is run by the Ragno family, which has been carrying on the artisan tradition of producing high quality wines for 5 generations. It takes its name from the hill where it is located, as a consequence of the fact that it was so named on the historical land registry drawn up during the Austrian domination. Today the winery is led by Zeno Zignoli who has managed to make it a cult name for enthusiasts and for anyone looking for wines that are an expression of the territory. The vineyards, about 7 hectares, are maniacally cared for by Zeno, and are located on poor soil, ideal for the cultivation of vines, interspersed with numerous and characteristic dry-stone walls, called the marogne, with a typical simple pergola arrangement that allows at best insolation and cultivation operations. Among the rows we find olive trees and cherries which at the end of March, when they bloom, offer a breathtaking view. Zeno produces about 6000 bottles divided into a Valpolicella, an Amarone, a white from Garagnega grapes and sporadically a Ripasso.
