Château Surain is a young and dynamic winery, located near the village of Saint-Gervais in the Bordeuax region. It was founded in 1920 by Roger Surain, a wine enthusiast and his territory. During the Second World War, Roger's son Jacques took care of the fields and later passed the baton to his son Alain who developed the company. Due to the 2008 crisis, some economic losses which added up to a bad season in 2013, in 2014 the company closed due to bankruptcy. In 2018, Adrien, the fourth generation, reinvigorates the Chateau with his entrepreneurship and resourcefulness. He decides to make a change in the winery, and begins traveling throughout Europe with the aim of meeting winemakers, professionals and journalists in the sector to understand what consumers really want. Once he returned to Saint Gervais he began making wine following all the advice he received during his trip, with the aim of producing wines that 100% reflect what people want to drink. Today Alian cultivates 16 hectares of vineyards planted with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. No chemical treatments are carried out, and all operations in the vineyard and cellar are carried out in accordance with the phases of the moon.
