Lagrein di Muri - Gries is a red wine with character, with feet firmly on the ground but, at the same time, ready to take off. Service
We recommend tasting it at a temperature of 16/18° in large balloon glasses. Wine to drink immediately but if left a few years in the cellar can give great emotions.
Pairing
Great in combination with first courses, to try with boiled wild boar with polenta.
Cellar: Muri - Griesel
The Muri - Gries winery was founded in 1845, when a group of Benedictine monks from Muri, in Switzerland, arrived in Gries, near Bolzano, where they took over the abbey of the Augustinian canons and with it also their already ancient wine business centuries, giving life to a symbiosis between convent, cellar and vineyards which has remained intact to this day. Today the estate includes 35 hectares of vineyards in the best production areas between the Bolzano basin, the surrounding area and the municipality of Appiano. The vineyards located within the convent have the best terroir, claim excellent soil quality and benefit from favorable climatic conditions. The cultivated vines are Pinot Bianco, Pinot Nero and Grigio, Gewürztraminer, Schiava, but their flagship is Lagrein with which they carry out careful work on this native variety that thrives here in an excellent way, giving year after year results amazing.
