Leoni Rosso - Vino Leoni

Leoni Rosso is a fresh and pleasant wine made from red grapes. One hectare of vineyard located at an altitude of 280 m.s.l.m on a soil of brown clays. The harvest is manual, and after crushing, the fermentation is spontaneous with a maceration of about 25 days on the skins. Aging in steel for 12 months. No filtration or clarification. 600 bottles produced. A genuine wine, frank, direct and sincere, with simple drinking and immediate enjoyment.

Service

It is recommended to taste it at a temperature of 16/18 ° in tulip glasses. A wine to drink immediately, but it will give the best of itself in a few years time.

Pairing

Excellent in combination with appetizers and first courses, it also goes well with red meats.

Claudio and Guido Leoni's company is located in the center of the Romagna hills, in Roncofreddo, where the famous Rubicone river flows, about 20 km from the Adriatic sea. The two brothers in a territory certainly not valued as it should and could be, have succeeded in producing fully convincing wines, as is rarely found in these parts. Their adventure begins in 2013, when they begin to take care of 2 hectares of vineyards of more than forty years grown with passion and in a natural way without pesticides or herbicides. Sangiovese, Bianchello, Albana and Barbera vineyards that have never seen chemicals. Harvest entirely by hand, and in the cellar the winemaking process takes place with the same respect for the raw material; spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, no fining or filtration, use of sulfur dioxide in homeopathic doses. The resulting wines are genuine, straightforward, direct, sincere, easy to drink and immediately enjoyable: the qualities that are expected to be found in these parts, but which are instead so rare.
