Cellar: Antonio Camillo
Antonio Camillo represents the Ciliegiolo in Maremma. Antonio has an oenological and wine experience of Maremma with few equal. Having worked with the largest and most famous companies in the Maremma wine landscape, becoming also the right arm of Giampaolo Paglia, the owner of Poggio Argentiera. In 2006, after years of searching for the soil suitable for breeding Ciliegiolo, finally finds them and begins to produce their wines, with the aim of nobilitating them and paying homage to the Maremma land. The grapes come from ancient vineyards, such as the beautiful 60-year-old Valerana's tall old vineyard. Today, the cultivated hectares have grown to 12 in different areas of Maremma, and beside the vineyards of Ciliegiolo we find also Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Grenache, Vermentino, Trebbiano, Malvasia, Ansonica and Procanico, but all cultivated with traditional methods and using only natural products . In the cellar it tries to intervene as little as possible with the oenological operations and the refinements are carried out in large concrete containers or bins. The Ciliegiolo di Camillo is gorgeous, original, and in the sip we can find the love of a man for his land.
