Cellar: Tanca Gioia
Tanca Gioia is a beautiful reality located in the beautiful St. Peter's Island. Island of volcanic origin, presents numerous ecosystems and is an important place for rest and nesting for many species of birds. On the island the terrain is sandy, allowing the vine to grow still on the free foot, and thanks to the damp wind of the sea the wines are particularly sapphire and minerals. U-Tabarka was born after a night spent by two founders who decided to produce wines with the aim of enhancing Sardinian native grapes. The name comes from Tabarka, a Tunisian city that was a Genoese fishermen's colony that in 1738 had to abandon and moved to the island of St. Peter. They start their adventure in 2000 with Carignano and Vermentino and gradually add Nasco Aromatico, Moscato di Calasetta and Bovaleddu. The vines are cultivated by trying to limit human intervention to the maximum, and using traditional methods so that each vintage is the daughter of the conditions that each plant has experienced. In fermentation cellar with indigenous yeasts, and refinements in steel. The dream has turned into a splendid reality, and the U-Tabarka wines represent the terroir completely and in every sip you can breathe the Mediterranean scrub and seaweed of St. Peter's Island.
