Anjou Blanc AOP Domaine des Brumes
The Anjou Blanc AOP from Domaine des Brumes is a refined white wine from the picturesque Loire Valley in France. Made from 100% Chenin Blanc, this wine fully expresses the characteristics of its terroir, thanks to the grape's ability to absorb and reflect the specificities of the soil and surrounding environment. Chenin Blanc is known for its rich acidity and remarkable aging potential, which allows for a wide range of styles, from the simple and easy-drinking to the more complex and multi-layered. The Anjou Blanc from Domaine des Brumes stands out for its perfect balance of freshness, acidity, and fruity aromas, offering a harmonious and engaging palate. The finish is characterized by a good length, enveloping and powerful, with a slightly creamy aftertaste that enhances its persistence. This Chenin Blanc is a highly exciting wine, ideal paired with fish and seafood dishes. Furthermore, thanks to its structure and complexity, it can be left to mature in the cellar for several years, becoming even more interesting and refined over time.
Service
We taste it 8/10°C. It is recommended to serve it in tulip glasses. Wine to be drunk immediately but left a few years in the cellar can give great emotions.
Pairings
Excellent as an aperitif, paired with fish starters, main courses of fish, ideal pairing with fois gras tartare.
Winery: Domaine des Brumes
Domaine des Brumes is the name given by Lucile and Dorian Herlem, a couple passionate about viticulture, to the estate they purchased in 2022 to realize their winemaking project. Their experience in the wine industry led them to choose the Loire region, specifically Saint-Aubin-de-Luigné (now part of Val-du-Layon), an ideal location to express the character of the terroir. Lucile and Dorian's philosophy is based on a sustainable and manual approach: work in the vineyard is done entirely by hand, minimizing interventions in the cellar to preserve the distinctive characteristics of the terroir and the grape variety. Fermentation occurs spontaneously, entrusted to natural yeasts, and aging takes place in various containers, such as steel tanks, fiberglass, barrels, or amphorae, to enhance the wine's natural expressiveness.Lovers of the Chenin grape, they are convinced of the great potential of the Coteaux du Layon region, renowned for its schist soils within the Anjou region, which takes its name from the Layon River. The name "Domaine des Brumes" evokes fog, an element the owners find mysterious, poetic, and enveloping—characteristics they also associate with their wines. The names of their wines reflect this philosophy: for example, "Epipapu" means "there is nothing to add" in dialect, a tribute to Lucile's origins and her years spent in Sancerre, emphasizing the purity and authenticity they seek to express in their creations.
