Cellar: Antichi Vigneti Manca
Antichi Vigneti Manca is located in Sorso, in the province of Sassari, in the Sardinian region of Romangia, a land kissed by the sun, the sea, and the Mistral wind. It is the story of two sisters (sureddi, in Sardinian dialect), Alessia and Noemi, who have given new light to the long family tradition. In fact, the Manca family has been cultivating the art of making wine in Romangia for four generations. In 2007, dusting off their grandfather's old handcrafted bottles, Alessia and Noemi realize they have a priceless heritage in their hands to preserve. Armed with fortitude and good will, Alessia and Noemi take care of six hectares of old vineyards located on calcareous soils in the Gulf of Asinara. Vineyards worked with respect for nature and where vines grown with native Sardinian varieties coexist, such as retagliadu nieddu (cannonau), vermentino, girò bianco, pascale and moscato. So in 2017 Antichi Vigneti Manca was officially born, in which in addition to Noemi and Alessia, Gianpaolo, Alessia's husband, and father are involved. Their wines are wines "of conscience", which take shape in the vineyard and during the vinification they are accompanied in their most natural expression, spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, and with long refinements in cement tanks. Wines that tell the story of the land of Badde Pira, its calcareous soils, the white marls and the wind that comes from the sea up to touch the vineyards.
