Blan 5.7 - Jordi Llorens
Blan 5.7 is a white wine produced with Parellada and Maccabeu grapes by Jordi Llorens in Blancafort, in the Conca de Barberà. The vines are planted on limestone and muddy soils, at an altitude of 420 meters. Once the grapes have been harvested manually, they are first macerated in the cellar for a week, and then fermented in steel tanks with only indigenous yeasts. Here the Blan 5.7 is left to age for 6 months on the fine lees in terracotta amphorae. Without adding sulfur dioxide before bottling. A wine with a golden yellow color. The nose is very fragrant, with hints of Mediterranean fruit and citrus. On the palate it is very silky, dry, with a good acidity that makes it very refreshing.

Winery: Jordi Llorens
The Jordi Llorens winery is located in the small village of Blancafort, protected by the hills of the Conca de Barbera, about 35 km from the coast. La Conca de Barberà corresponds to a Catalan county full of medieval monasteries with a very old wine tradition. The area has a Mediterranean climate and the vineyards are located at an altitude of 400-600 meters. Jordi is the eighth generation of winemakers in his family, and his first winemaking year was in 2008. He owns about 15 hectares of vineyards located on calcareous soils, mostly grown with local varieties such as Macabeu, Parellada , Garnatxa, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. The wines are made with biodynamic principles and no sulfur or other additives are used. Fermentation is carried out in steel tanks, and refinements take place in steel, amphora and wood - depending on the cuvée. The white wines make a short maceration and the reds ferment, in most cases, in whole bunches. Jordi is part of the Brutal Wine Corporation, which brings together a dozen Spanish and French natural wine producers, each one producing their own wine under the Brutal label. Jordi Llorens produces some of the most amazing, refreshing and reflective terroir wines in this part of Spain.
