Winery: Giacomo Fenocchio
The Giacomo Fenoglio winery is located in Monforte d’Alba, a town located in one of the most important wine-growing areas of Piedmont and Italy. The winery was founded in 1864, but it was only in the 70s of the twentieth century that a virtuous and increasingly attentive enological journey began with Albino and Claudio. Today the vineyards extend over an area of about 15 hectares, 4 of which in the Bussia vineyard, and the rest between Cannubbi and Villero. The vineyards are conducted with organic methods, even if certification is not a priority for the winery, which has always been used to working the vines according to their times and developments in perfect harmony with nature. In the cellar, the vinification is also traditional, very long fermentations and minimizing interventions in the cellar, no barriques or small barrels, but only 20 hectolitre Slavonian oak barrels. With this philosophy, 12 labels are born, where, alongside two whites, Arneis and "Animo Arancio", there are the traditional and typical reds of the area to play the part of the protagonists. Wines far from homologation, but incredibly fascinating for their intense aromas and fragrances: in one word, unique.
