Marko Fon's Terrano is an expressive and complex red wine made from Terrano grapes. The grapes are harvested manually in the second half of October. In the cellar fermentation is spontaneous with only indigenous yeasts and maceration on the skins for 7 days. Aged in large barrels for 24 months. Marko Fon's terrano has an intense ruby red color. Marko Fon is a wine poet, a wine grower who is in love with his work and his country, a natural winery. His company is located in Slovenia, in Komen, a small village in the karst. His family has been generating these lands for generations and winning with passion and respect. Marko manages four hectares of vineyards that are found on limestone and clay soils rich in minerals. Vineyards are native and always linked to these areas, Malvasia, Vitoska and Terrano for a very small production of only 6000 bottles per year. Marko fon cures his vineyards with biological methods, trying to reduce the treatments to the minimum, without any type of systemic intervention, insecticides and herbicides, uses only copper, but is considering the possibility of eliminating it. In the cellar is the same treatment that begins with spontaneous vinification, indigenous yeasts and refinements in old wooden barrels. The grapes of his Malvasia come from the vineyard called "the 4 states". An old, centenary vineyard located in Gorjansko, still raised on foot, and so called for the 4 witness passages he witnessed. The wines of Marko Fon exalt the fruit, they know how to excite, with an authentic taste that is the expression of the vine and the territory.
