Cellar: Maria Pia Castelli
The Farm Maria Pia Castelli covers eight hectares of vineyard land, lying on the back of Monte Urano hill 200 meters above the sea level. The convenient location allows you to enjoy the summer heat, solar radiation and the benefits of the sea influences. The soil, clay, is naturally rich in minerals such as iron and magnesium. This right combination of climatic and geological factors aspects is a fundamental and decisive factor for a good ripening of the grapes and excellent wine quality. The company was founded in 1999 by the passion and the expert hands of Maria Pia's father, Erasmo Castelli, with the specific intent to produce high quality wines. Since then the company, led by Maria Pia and her husband Enrico Bartoletti, has been able to achieve in a few years the highest quality standards, establishing itself in the national and international market as one of the most interesting proposals in the wine panorama of piceno.Il secret success of the wines "Maria Pia Castelli" resides in some unique and special aspects of the manufacturing process of the land, care of the vineyard and careful processing of grapes: the obsessive attention to the vineyard begins with a meticulous winter pruning, passes through biodynamic treatments and thinning operations of excess bunches, selecting only the best ones, to end with the manual harvesting of the grapes.
