Silice Blanc - Maison Des Ardoisieres

Silice Blanc is an elegant Savoy white wine made from pure Jacquère grapes, one of the most representative native varietals of the French Alps. Produced by Domaine des Ardoisières, it comes from vineyards grown on silica-rich soils, which give the wine a distinct minerality and extraordinary freshness. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts, fully respecting the identity of the grape variety and terroir. The result is a natural white wine with an authentic personality, capable of expressing all the purity and elegance of Savoyard viticulture. The nose opens with intense aromas of fresh citrus, green apple, and delicate white flowers. On the palate, it is smooth, fresh, and dynamic, supported by a vibrant minerality that provides tension and great drinkability. Floral notes intertwine with nuances of grape husk and light herbaceous sensations, accompanying a refined, precise sip with remarkable aromatic expressiveness. Silice Blanc is the ideal wine for those seeking a fresh, minerally, and gastronomic white, perfect for enjoying during the summer or pairing with fish, shellfish, fresh cheeses, and vegetarian cuisine. An authentic expression of Jacquère and one of the most representative wines of the new Savoy.

Service

We taste it 8/10° C. It is recommended to serve it in tulip glasses. Wine to be drunk immediately but left a few years in the cellar can give great emotions.

Pairings

Equally suited as a sophisticated aperitif or paired with lake fish, shellfish, fresh cheeses, and light Alpine cuisine, it enhances every dish with effortless elegance.

Winery: Maison Des Ardoisieres

Among the most fascinating producers of French natural wines, Domaine des Ardoisières is a true symbol of heroic viticulture in the French Alps. Its history began in 1997 in Cevins, in the heart of Savoy, thanks to an ambitious project to reclaim the abandoned terraced vineyards overlooking the valley. The initiative was spearheaded by Denis Perroux, then mayor of the village, with the aim of countering depopulation in the area and preserving a unique viticultural heritage. To realize this dream, he enlisted the help of renowned biodynamic winemaker Michel Grisard and agronomist Brice Omont, who would become the face and soul of Domaine des Ardoisières. Today, the winery cultivates approximately 16 hectares of vineyards located between Albertville and Moûtiers, on spectacular slopes reaching a gradient of up to 70%. The soils, characterized by mineral-rich micaceous schist, offer ideal conditions for the production of wines of extraordinary complexity and personality. The vineyards are home to a precious heritage of native Savoy grape varieties, including Altesse, Jacquère, Mondeuse Blanche, and Persan, alongside local selections of Roussanne, Chardonnay, Malvoisie, and Gamay. Biodynamic management and absolute respect for the natural balance allow every nuance of the Alpine terroir to be enhanced. The wines of Domaine des Ardoisières are internationally recognized for their elegance, freshness, and profound territorial identity. Iconic bottles that express the strength of the mountains, the richness of the soil, and the pioneering vision of Brice Omont, today considered one of the most important interpreters of French natural wine. Discover the selection of Domaine des Ardoisières wines and be captivated by unique labels, authentic expressions of Savoy and great mountain viticulture.
