Argille Blanc 2024 - Domaine Des Ardoisieres
Domaine des Ardoisières' Argile Blanc is a refined Alpine white wine, a blend of Jacquère, Chardonnay, Mondeuse Blanche, and Roussanne. Vinified with indigenous yeasts and aged for eight months in concrete and large barrels, it fully expresses the Savoy schist marl terroir. On the nose, it offers aromas of white-fleshed fruit, minerality, and hints of fern; on the palate, it is crystalline, fresh, taut, and pleasantly savory with a long finish. Argille Blanc - Domaine Des Ardoisieres
Domaine des Ardoisières's Argile Blanc is a white wine of extraordinary refinement, born on the western slopes of the French Alps, amidst the prestigious terroirs of Saint-Pierre-de-Soucy and Apremont. This elegant blend, expertly combining Jacquère, Chardonnay, Mondeuse Blanche, and Roussanne, represents one of the most authentic, taut, and highly regarded expressions of the entire Savoie winemaking landscape. Under the expert guidance of Brice Omont, the winery adopts a rigorous approach focused on the highest quality: vinification involves whole-cluster fermentation with only indigenous yeasts, followed by eight months of aging in concrete vats and large oak barrels. This process allows the wine to develop remarkable complexity and aromatic depth, preserving its freshness and original territorial identity. On the nose, it stands out for a clean and refined bouquet of peach, pear, and white-fleshed fruit, enriched with intense mineral nuances, hints of fern, and delicate notes of bark. On the palate, it is crystalline, fresh, and lively, supported by a clear and well-defined minerality that provides perfect balance and extraordinary drinkability. The palate unfolds with pinpoint precision, leading to a long and persistent finish, marked by the pleasant savory character typical of the schist marl soils from which it derives. Thanks to its exceptional gastronomic versatility, it is perfect both as a signature aperitif and paired with shellfish, seafood, sushi, fish, white meats, vegetarian dishes, and medium-aged cheeses; a French white with great personality, capable of combining finesse, tension, and Alpine authenticity in every single sip.
Service
We taste it 8/10° C. It is recommended to serve it in tulip glasses. Wine to be drunk immediately but left a few years in the cellar can give great emotions.
Pairings
Equally suited as a sophisticated aperitif or paired with lake fish, shellfish, fresh cheeses, and light Alpine cuisine, it enhances every dish with effortless elegance.
Winery: Domaine Des Ardoisieres
Perched on the steep east-facing slopes of Chignin, in the heart of France's Savoie region, Domaine H is one of the most exciting new names to emerge from the contemporary Alpine wine scene. Founded by Korean-born sommelier-turned-winemaker Sukhwan Ha, the estate was established in 2023 with a clear ambition: to express the unique character of Chignin's mountain terroirs through sustainable viticulture and precise, low-intervention winemaking. Before becoming a vigneron, Sukhwan Ha built an impressive career in the world of fine dining and wine. Based in Lyon, he was the chef sommelier and owner of Le Passe-Temps, one of the first restaurants in the city to earn a Michelin star. There, he developed a reputation for championing terroir-focused, low-intervention wines and introducing diners to some of France's most distinctive producers.
