Cellar: Les Trois Petiotes
One could speak of "atypical" Bordeaux, because the great Aquitaine area does not usually offer minute artisanal products, much less of a natural mold. But if we can speak of atypicality, we certainly cannot overlook the genuine authenticity of the wines of Les Trois Petiotes, a winery run by Valerie Godelu who founded it in 2008, with the birth of the third child Elsa. The name, Les Trois Petiotes, is dedicated to his three Valerie daughters who marked the stages of this wine adventure: Léa, Alys and Elsa. The estate extends for about 3 hectares in three small plots of one hectare each in Turiac. Each hectare is located in an area characterized by gentle, well-ventilated plateaus composed mainly of clay and limestone. The vines, over 45 years old, are of local varieties such as Mlabec, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Viticultural choices soon move towards a healthy and vital agriculture (grassing and mechanical weeding, abandonment of synthetic products). In vinification, total consistency with viticultural practices: no type of oenological additive, with the exception of a very limited use of sulphites (disinfection of barriques with sulfur fuses). Fermentations occur spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and lactic bacteria, the wine is neither clarified nor filtered.
