Cotes d'Auvergne Chardonnay Les Suquets - Les Terres Bariolées
Suquets is a refined white wine produced by Edoardo and Claire of Les Terres Bariolees, located in Chalus in Auvergne, in the heart of southern central France. The Chardonnay grapes are grown on vineyards located at about 600 meters above sea level, with an eastern exposure, which helps to give the wine unique characteristics. The winemaking process involves a strictly manual harvest, followed by a long pressing of the must in barriques. The maturation lasts for about 8 months, with the last racking in steel for a month, before bottling without filtration or clarification, to preserve the purity of the wine's characteristics as much as possible. The style of Chardonnay Les Suquets is distinguished by a freshness and flavor that make it extremely balanced. Floral and fruity notes are perceived on the nose, while in the mouth it is fresh and savoury, ideal to accompany the local cheeses typical of Auvergne, such as Cantal, Bleu d’Auvergne, Fourme d’Ambert, Saint-Nectaire and Salers. A wine that embodies the authenticity and tradition of the region, perfect for those looking for a distinctive and versatile white.
Service
We recommend tasting it at a temperature of 10/12° in tulip goblets. Wine to drink immediately but if left a few years in the cellar can give great emotions.
Pairing
Excellent with seafood first courses, it is worth trying in combination with linguine with mussels.

Edoardo Veltroni and Claire Freist embarked on a fascinating winemaking journey on the heights of Chalus, in Puy-de-Dôme, where they gave life to an independent viticulture project. With consolidated experience as winemakers, having worked in some of the most renowned wine-growing areas of Burgundy, they have joined forces to create a reality that reflects their passion for wine and respect for the terroir. After careful research, they chose a 5-hectare plot in Chalus, located at 600 meters above sea level, where the grape varieties grown include Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Gamay. This terroir, characterized by a splendid eastern exposure, offers unique conditions for viticulture, favoring the quality of the grapes. The agricultural practices adopted by Veltroni and Freist are based on biodynamics and sustainability.Edoardo Veltroni and Claire Freist embarked on a fascinating winemaking journey on the heights of Chalus, in Puy-de-Dôme, where they gave life to an independent viticulture project.
