The cellar: Es d'Aqui
Es d'Aqui is led by Jean Louis Pinto, a young and talented winemaker located in Moulin Neuf, a small town not far from Bergerac. Jean Louis Pinto's adventure begins when he realizes that to make good wine it was not necessary to come from a rich family of winemakers. From that moment he studied oenology, and between 2004 and 2009 he worked in various cellars, some small, some larger and with very different approaches. His latest job manages a winery of over 30 hectares with a production of 160,000 bots per year. But his life changed radically when he tasted a natural wine. It was a wine full of surprises, emotions and magic. He immediately quit his job, reset his mind and began to design his new project. Today, Jean Louis does not have a real vineyard, but 8 small squares selected from the best terroirs, ranging from the surroundings of Gaillac to St Chinian, Malepère, Ariège, Corbières. And so, the grapes of each area are vinified separately and each cuvée responds to a specific area. Thus, the name of each wine is "Es d'aqui" (in Occitan) with an arrow on a map. For each cuvee between 600 and 1,500 bots are produced, and about 8,000 bots per year in total.
