Portegai Frizzante - Il Guscio d’Oro di Andrea Marotta
Portegai Frizzante is the lively counterpart to its still twin: a natural wine that embodies the history of the Colli Asolani and the authentic character of the Glera, Bianchetta, and Rabbiosa grape varieties. It originates from the historic family vineyard that gives it its name—a site steeped in history, known as "Portegai" as far back as the 18th century. The name evokes the rows of linden trees whose interlaced branches once formed striking, arcade-like arches. Cultivated on the clay soils of the Colli Asolani, this wine expresses the territory's genuine character through a fine, delicate effervescence, a fresh and pleasant palate, and a harmonious balance between structure and lightness. Bottle-refermentation enhances its authentic identity, offering a lively, spontaneous experience full of personality. Portegai Rifermentato is the perfect wine for those who cherish tradition without sacrificing freshness. It is a glass that tells the story of family roots, the legacy of a historic vineyard, and the joy of sharing a toast. An authentic natural wine from the Veneto region, waiting to be discovered.
Service
We recommend serving at a temperature of around 8/10 ° in goblets ballon flute. Wine to be drunk in the year but if left to stand in the basement a few years can give pleasant emotions.
Pairing
The Brut Nature with appetisers of both land and sea, first courses based on fish, try it with the fish rolls saint peter baked.
Cellar: Il Guscio d’Oro di Andrea Marotta
Il Guscio d’Oro is a small, family-run winery rooted in deep tradition—a place where wine is not merely fermented grape juice, but an authentic story of history, nature, and passion. Founded by Andrea Marotta, the winery carries on a legacy that began long before his birth in 1992; the true story started in 1970, when his grandfather—armed with strong hands and an unconditional love for the land—began cultivating the lush vineyards of Portegai. After earning a degree in Agricultural Science from the University of Udine, Andrea mastered the art of winemaking firsthand, experiencing the harvest and immersing himself in vineyard life among the rows of vines in Valdobbiadene. Today, Il Guscio d’Oro represents a perfect blend of respect for tradition and a drive for innovation. Vineyard work is carried out with the utmost respect for nature’s rhythms, aiming to capture the authentic, honest flavors of the Asolo Hills in every glass. Each drop of wine offers a journey through history and taste, grounded in a precise agronomic strategy: 80% of production is dedicated to showcasing indigenous varieties such as Glera, Bianchetta, and Rabbiosa, alongside elegant international grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, and Merlot. Choosing Il Guscio d’Oro means embracing a story spanning over fifty years—a legacy sustained by the hope that, with every single bottle, one can sense the love, dedication, and hard work that drive this extraordinary estate.
