Cellar: Giacomo Baraldo
Giacomo Baraldo’s epiphany with wine comes on the occasion of his eighteenth birthday: the explosion of aromas and flavors released by two bottles opened by his father in his honor marks the beginning of a deep dedication, destined to evolve into a true vocation. After completing his secondary education, Giacomo enrolled in a degree program in Viticulture and Oenology and, in 2009, planted his first vines together with his father—Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon—in the Bossolo vineyard. This small plot of just 0.6 hectares, located at 515 meters above sea level in San Casciano dei Bagni, would later lend its name to his pure Sangiovese, Il Bossolo. After graduating, Baraldo embarked on an international training journey that took him first to Bordeaux, then to Patagonia and New Zealand, before finally arriving in Burgundy. There, his experience at Domaine de Montille proved to be particularly formative..
